Now consider the amount of data being created by every machine, ship, car, mobile phone. With this explosion of alternate sources of data and advances made in computer hardware and Machine Learning technologies, we can unearth never before possible insights at scale
Tathya aims to understand the global economy and its working in a near real-time basis leveraging alternate sources of data like satellite Images, geolocation data etc. and advanced machine learning algorithms. At Tathya we are building the following products which cover important components of the economy :
- Steel Index: Tracking steel production covering all major steel plants in the world
- Metal Index: Metal Index provides production trend of important metals like Iron Ore, Copper, Aluminium, Nickel across the world
- Maritime Index: Tracking global supply chain by monitoring real-time movement of cargos across continents and major ports
You will be involved in developing algorithms for the above products
Min. Qualification:
- A person with 2+ years of experience in data science. The person should have prior experience with practical data science applications and use cases.
- Significant experience in developing machine learning techniques to derive insights from data
- Has worked on computer vision problems
- Proficient in Python/ R
- Quickly iterate and build solutions and work with the engineering team to deploy those solutions
- Bachelors/Masters/Ph.D. in any Engineering stream, Statistics, Economics from premiere Institutes

Roles:
Being a startup, the role would evolve over time. But, here are a few things you can expect:
- Satellite Image Processing: Develop and apply advanced fusion algorithms on satellite images from multiple sources like Landsat, Sentinel, Modis, Digital Globe
- Machine learning: Develop and apply advanced Machine Learning algorithms to generate insights from multiple data sources like Satellite images, AIS signals, Geolocation data
- Object Detection: Develop and apply object detection algorithms to identify objects from aerial images including Satellite, Drones, CCTV etc
