Job Summary:

A Senior Associate Platform is considered as a senior contributor for complex modules of work by bringing deep core technology expertise and relevant business subject matter expertise to the table. Platform Expertise refers to the ability to apply the technical domain skills to a particular platform (Hadoop).

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work within the Capital Markets/ Commodities/ Financial space to Develop/ Implement high end software products/ services involving large scale data processing (TBs)
• Build a Big data based Risk repository on an operational Platform, through leveraging technologies like Spark, Scala , Kafka, HBase, Hadoop and ELK
• Implement different architectural models for our scalable data processing, as well as scalable data storage
• Build functionality for data ingestion from multiple heterogeneous sources
• Build functionality for data analytics, search and aggregation

Experience Guidelines:

• Over all 6+ years of total experience including Core Java and distributed computing coupled with excellent consulting, oral and written communication, presentation, and analytical skills
• More than 1 year of experience in Big Data application development involving various data processing techniques – Data Ingestion, In-Stream data processing, Batch Analytics, Data Persistence strategy (sharing & replication)
• Excellent knowledge, experience with the Hadoop stack (Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Hbase, Sqoop, Flume, Spark, Shark, Oozie, Scala etc.)
• Basic/ intermediate understanding of NoSQL platforms like MongoDB & Cassandra
• Excellent knowledge of relational database technologies with experience on databases such as Oracle or SQL Server
• Nice to have knowledge of traditional Data Warehousing architecture, design principles; BI tool (Cognos/ BO/Tableau / Qlikview) , ETL tool(Informatica/ Datastage/ Talend) ; Memory Databases such as SAP HANA; knowledge of data mining and machine learning algorithms(R/ Python/ Weka)

Education:

Full Time Bachelor’s / Master’s degree (Science or Engineering preferred)
