Job Summary:

Big Data Architect will work within the Capital Markets / Commodities / Financial space to Architect/Develop/Implement high end software products/services involving large scale data processing – data ingestion, in-stream analytics and batch analytics. Opportunity to work in big data platforms like Spark, Hadoop and HBase is a salient feature about this role.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

• The individual chosen for this position should have extensive knowledge and experience in the following areas:
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with building various elements of Big data solutions like data Ingestion, data modeling (HDFS & No-SQL), batch and stream data processing and analytics leveraging technologies (including but not limited to) Hadoop, HDFS, MR, Yarn, Hive, Spark, Spark Streaming, Storm, Kafka, ELK, Avro, Parquet, HBase, Sqoop, Flume, NiFi, Oozie etc.
• 7+ years of rich industry experience with Java/JEE background and command on programming languages like Java and Scala
• Good understanding of No-SQL platforms like HBase, MongoDB & Cassandra. Exposure of distributed search platforms like ElasticSearch & SolR.
• Experience of developing Big Data Applications on premise as well as Cloud (AWS or Azure).
• Good knowledge of RDBMS technologies like – MySQL, Oracle or SQL Server.
• Expertise in Business Requirement gathering, Analysis & conceptualizing high-level architectural framework & Design
•  Must have experience in designing and architecting large scale distributed data management & analytics applications
• Thorough understanding of Solution architecting & Estimation process
• Excellent consulting skills, oral and written communication, presentation, and analytical skills
• Active involvement in thought leadership Best Practices development, Written White Papers and/or POVs on Big Data Technology
• Self-starter, Self-learner, with a keen interest to grow in Analytics space. Ability to drive end to end project’s design & development while working closely with global clients.

 

ADDITIONAL/OPTIONAL SKILLS

• Knowledge of traditional Data Warehousing architecture, design principles
• Knowledge of any one of BI tools such as Cognos, BO, Tableau, Qlikview
• Knowledge of any one of ETL tool such as Informatica, Datastage, Talend etc
• Knowledge of data mining and machine learning algorithms used in analytics and tools like R, Python, Weka

Experience Guidelines:

• 8 to 12 years of experience with strong hands-on knowledge in Java and Scala development
• Strong technical knowledge of BigData platform e.g. Spark and HBase.
• Ability to modularise work and distribute with-in team.
• Ability to provide necessary coaching to bring juniors upto speed on the technology

 

Education:

Full Time Bachelor’s / Master’s degree (Science or Engineering preferred)
